Candidate Spotlight

Anneliese Hinkle
HOUSE DISTRICT 29

Vote for
PRINCIPLE
NOT POWER

I arrived in Utah, with my military family, after many years traveling in Europe and the USA. I attended Utah public schools in Magna. I was class president at Brockbank, and led a class demonstration to gain back civil rights taken by an overtly authoritarian school administration. (Everyone has rights even students). Being a product of the Utah education system, I realize it has many faults. My husband Bruce and I have two children presently in the state public school system. With soccer, homework and other school activities little time is left for the routine matters.

Family values require family rules, not state laws. Therefore, I feel the many hours of debate on the House and Senate floor discussing moral issues, is time wasted. It takes a parent to raise a child, not a village. I am a backer of the Minuteman project and the fine work they do. Their attempt to control illegal aliens from traveling north thru our border has helped. Now, the state must do something to help. First, we must limit tax funded social programs to US citizens only. Colorado already has and other states are in the process. I want to be a voice of reason for District 29, in the House of Representatives.

I sincerely ask for your vote!

PERSONAL CHOICE
TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Education

As a mother of two Junior High School students, I am and have experienced the lack of accountability of our school system. Teachers must be made accountable for the job they do. With this they must be given a realist mission. CLASS SIZE MUST BE REDUCED.

Do we want

Quantity or Quality

education? Many teachers allow sub par performance from their students. Likewise, many give sub par effort to the job because of inability to handle the tremendous workload imposed on them. In any other line of work, many would no longer be employed. We must set teaching standards to insure ALL students are given the education they need and deserve.

LEAVE NO CHILD BEHIND,

regardless of how fast he or she learns. We have several students in our community that have not been given the education they need or deserve. If with the help of parents, we hold teachers accountable for their positions we won’t need additional programs for those students to succeed.

Taxes

Education must be priority one for our TAX dollars. I am concerned about taxes and how they are spent; BUT FEEL STRONGLY THAT Education must not be left to struggle.

CLASS SIZE MUST BE REDUCED

I don’t agree with the idea of a flat tax or tax cuts that favor the wealthy at the expense of our future. Tax cuts for the well off is commonplace at the Federal level, but at the state level the schools need the money to produce the brains for tomorrows jobs. Our growing children are the future of America. I agree with the Jones/Mascaro proposal, which would eliminate the tax break for large families. Large families are the responsibility of the parents. It takes parents to raise the children, not a village. Therefore, the cost to care for them belongs to the parents not the rank and file TAX PAYER.

Illegal Aliens

Our border security is very important. The thought of open borders on the North and the South is nothing short of scary, and it isn’t even Halloween yet. Nations in the past that failed to control immigration no longer exist. Do we want the USA to become one of the failed states? I think not. As a nation if we fail to control our borders, we will fail as a country.

It took 20 years of uncontrolled borders to create an illegal population of more than 12 million. Now the powers that be are calling for amnesty. Amnesty for LAW BREAKERS is nothing short of immoral. Already, 200K settled illegal aliens are self-deporting this year. With stricter enforcement of laws already on the books the numbers of illegal aliens would quickly decline.

ATTRITION THROUGH ENFORCEMENT WILL WORK. If mandatory work site verification were required the jobs magnet would begin to be shut down. With mandated federal cooperation with local police enforcement this rate would be even higher.

Utah needs a law to limit governmental social programs and education opportunities to citizens of the USA. Our taxes and citizen children will benefit greatly. Without the government safety net, illegal life in the USA would not be as lucrative. If you elect me to represent this district, I will work with like-minded parties to eliminate the tuition breaks for dependent aliens regardless of what high school they attended and work to stop the welfare and education overload.
